Deutsche Bahn Concert
Individual project
This is a society-centered service design project. The aim is to provide a new ride experience on the traditional Deutsche Bahn" and to make long-distance travel more interesting for users. At the same time, provide artists and with more platforms for performance.
Background
The German railway is a well-established means of transport. On average, 730,0000 passengers are transported every day. During the journey, many passengers are very bored. The space for passengers to move around is very limited. Most of the time, passengers are sitting in their seats. Listening to music, playing mobile phones or reading books. Everyone is busy with "I".
How can the design activate this space and give it a sense of "us"?
Inspiration
By chance, I saw the Party Bus in Copenhagen, which inspired me to design it. Maybe it is possible to create new moments for the user compared to the boring ones. Make it a better experience.
Like having a party or watching a show on a long train journey.
Idea
My design is to add a musical carriage to some of the Deutsche Bahn lines. For passengers, if they they get bored on a long train journey, they can also book a carriage with a musical performance. The carriages with music give passengers a new experience and transform them from being busy with the "I" to the "we".
For artists, they can book music carriages via the Deutsche Bahn App. Deutsche Bahn gives them more opportunities and a bigger platform to showcase their musical talents. Good music and performances will be more visible and supported through DB.
User flow
Passenger Interface
DB's app now includes the ability to purchase events with musical performances. Passengers can add a "Watch Performance" event to the regular app. Tickets can be booked on the app for events with concerts.
Artist Interface
Artists can register as an artist through the personal interface, and after successful registration, they can book a performance for a definite distance and time.
