Zero Emission
collaborative project
The project redesigns the way the kitchen of the future cooks from an energy-saving point of view. In the field of UI/UX, the way of cooking through humidity regulation was added.
Introduction
There was a time when the usual stove-oven combination was not found in every kitchen. Then it became the standard. Now we want steaming and air roasting, a healthier and more energy-efficient alternative, to become the new standard. But that can't be achieved by adding separate appliances that are used only occasionally and remain hidden in the kitchen cabinetry.
We want to create a central piece for the kitchen, motivating the owners and their visitors to normalize this way of cooking. We want people to use it, ask for it and expect it in every kitchen. Pave the way for a new gastronomic future.
Situation
The way we cook today, heat always escapes into the air the moment the lid is opened, and in this way energy is lost.In the kitchen of the future. Can heat be well preserved?
Core Concept
Hot air and steam flow through the valve nozzles into the vessels as soon as they are in place. Food is cooked with just the right amount of moisture and energy, and that energy is stored for later use.
The system can and does know when to direct more hot air or steam into the vessels and when to withdraw it.

Interaction
Steam cookers and air fryers must be stationary. They have the way for the user to interact with the food by moving, shaking or rotating it.
Interface Design
temperature, humidity and time can be freely controlled
Normally in a steamer you only control the time, while in an air fryer you can control the temperature and time. With our concept, you have the ability to freely change the time, temperature and humidity to achieve the perfect result. Some recipes need a certain humidity for an optimal result.
